If you have been following us on

Memorial Day is a traditional American holiday honoring our fallen soldiers who have courageously given their lives in war. It is also the unofficial start of summer! Did you know that on Memorial Day, people barbecue the most? This means that it's the beginning of picnic and barbecue season! So in honor of this holiday and in having some fun in the sun, our style guides are created around the essence of a good picnic outfit--the Kaii way. So get your sunscreen ready and hand everyone some fans because with these outfits, you'll send the temperature through the roof!
Day 1 #MDWootd:
What's more summery than the colors of refreshing mint, bold coral melon, and clean white? This whole outfit! This cute lace cami dress from Kaii is a wonderful piece to style with because of its flirty and girly nature along with its refreshing minty blue color. This is the ultimate summer dress perfect for a picnic, a day at the beach, or a barbecue by the pool. We decided to let the accessories bring in the contrasting colors by pairing the dress with orangey coral hues, which makes everything stand out in a very refreshing way, almost as refreshing like a melon mojito (which sounds amazing right about now). Wedges are the perfect shoes for a picnic to prevent digging your heels into the grass or any uneven surfaces. Stay flirty chic in this fresh outfit made to look like you're ready to hit the tropical resort at any time.
Day 2 #MDWootd:
This laser cut-out dress is a great go-to dress that is both comfortable and versatile. Since the laser cut-out design on the dress is intricate, we kept the neckline simple with a triangle necklace that gives it that edginess that complements the dress's appeal. The dress lining is black, so we styled it with a big black straw hat that's sure to keep the sun out of your pretty eyes. Keeping the outfit solely yellow and black will make you look like a bumblebee (and probably attract some too), so we've added rust-orange accessories to balance the outfit out giving the ensamble a well-rounded color scheme that's perfect for both summer and fall! This outfit doubles as an "OOTN (outfit of the night)" so that you can go straight from your picnic to the club (minus the hat of course). Switch up the wedges for a pair of killer sexy heels in orange or gold to give it a night makeover.
Day 3 #MDWootd:
If you thought our previous countdown outfits were too girly for your taste, how about something more boy-ish? For this outfit, we've put together our crochet cropped top with its matching crochet high-waisted shorts for a pseudo-romper look. We're given the girly outfit a tomboy twist with a BOY London snapback and Isabel Marant wedge sneakers. If you're not the picnic type and would rather spend your weekend playing beer pong or fashionably chillin, this outfit would make parking-lot-rotting look ever-so chic. We styled the ensamble with chunky cuffs for each wrist, one single ring, small zipper stud earrings, and a London flag clutch from Alex McQueen (Get it? It's because of the BOY
London hat). This whole outfit is a big statement maker from the head to fingers to toes. So if you're not into the whole sundress thing, this outfit would be the one for you.
Day 4 #MDWootd:
This sheer maxi dress is the best dress for a picnic due to its sheer maxi length. The sheer skirt is the perfect coverup for when you have to sit indian style on the grass, which means more comfort and less worrying about crotch flashing everyone around you. In suit with our previous #MDWootd style guides, we added another straw hat to the ensamble. We kept it simple with neutral nude colors and accented the dress itself, especially with its intricate beading on the top. This dress has been a best seller at the tradeshows our Kaii team has gone to, so it seemed only natural to share it with you all! We left out any necklaces for this outfit because we don't want to detract any attention away from the beautiful beading on the dress. So we stacked the arms with a delicate yet bold arm party with metal feathered pieces like a feather cuff and feather earring hoops. To complete the feather look, we also added Nails Inc.'s feathers effect nail polish into the mix to make you look as fly as a bird. Since this outfit is whimsical, we ditched the wedges/heels and added flat sandals that have a gold plated accent that catch the sun's rays every now-and-then everytime you walk. If you're looking for something playful, girly, and neutral, this is the perfect picnic weekend outfit for you.
So whatever you may do doing for Memorial Day Weekend, we hope you spend it responsibly and with good company. Don't forget what this holiday is really for and have toast for all of our fallen soldiers as they have bravely given their lives for the safety of our country so that we can celebrate as we do now.
We hope you have enjoyed all of our style guides and stay tuned on our blog for future updates and more sneak peeks into our upcoming styles!
