Polished Edgy Chic (PT. 1)

If you've been following us on Instagram, you might have seen our post on #KaiiStyle not too long ago on our upcoming style guides to help you get some "Polished #Swag." (If not, we suggest you follow us on Instagram now!) If we were to describe Kaii in a handful of words, they would be: chic, ready-to-wearable, feminine, edgy, and polished. So we've come up with not one, but TWO parts of our "Polished Edgy Chic" #KAiiSTYLE guides to help you achieve that effortless, chic Kaii look. Also, click below on the links under each picture to see where you can score one of our exclusive Kaii styles online! (You're welcome!)

(1.) Draped lapel waist-tie jacket // Kaii, (2.) Premium rhinestone v collar // Topshop, (3.) Facet stone bug stud // Topshop, (4.) Infinity midi ring pack // Topshop, (5.) Asymmetrical ruffle silk sleeveless top // Kaii, (6.) Leather weave mini skirt // Kaii, (7.) Val // 10 Crosby Derek Lam, (8.) Buckle strap ankle boots // Balenciaga, (9.) Antigona medium cow-print calf hair satchel // Givenchy, (10. from top to bottom) Pin bracelet // Tom Binns, Standard supply ID bracelet // Marc by Marc Jacobs, & Pyramid spike bracelet // Tom Binns
Asymmetrical ruffled silk top, leather weave mini skirt, and a figure flattering, draped lapel waist-tie jacket are all classic ingredients for an effortless look. We gave two options to dress your toes because you could be that edgy, grungy boots type or the polished ankle-strap heels type of girl. Whatever floats your stylish boat. And whether you choose the boots or the heels, pairing the outfit with an armparty on one wrist, a ringparty on the other side's fingers, a simple yet bold necklace, bold earring studs, and a black-and-white printed bag would all be key to complete this edgy chic look. On a side note: Does anyone see cow prints being huge on the fashion scene sometime soon? Comment below if you agree or absolutely disagree. We would love to hear what you have to say about it.

(1.) Cluster necklace // Kenneth Jay Lane, (2.) Waffle knit cropped sweater in coral // Kaii, (3.) Leather mixed fit & flair skirt // Kaii, (4.) Thigh high boots // Louboutin, (5.) Fold over clutch // Clare Vivier, (6.) Xplosives Top Coats in Bombshell-orange and black confetti // Formula X for Sephora, (7.) Camila hammered ring set // Gorjana, (8.) Medium sunburst ring in black // House of Harlow 1960
Sweater leather weather wouldn't be complete without a pair of ah-may-zing thigh high boots like these Louboutin Louise XI 120 stretch-suede over-the-knee boots (if only the average girl could afford them). Despite the hefty price tag on those boots, the purpose of including them in this style guide is not to entice you to punch a huge hole in your wallet, but rather to use it as a point of reference to help you style an outfit similar to this. Since our waffle knit sweater is bulky (in a good way), we thought it was unnecessary to wear anything on the wrists and thought a statement ring and ring party would suffice. We completed the outfit with Xplosive nails like Formula X for Sephora's top nail polish coat in Bombshell and a grungy gold fold over clutch that elevates this look above and beyond into the perfect polished edgy chic.
(1.) Fara leather brim hat // Maison Michel, (2.) 'Bullet proof' multistrand necklace // Vince Camuto, (3.) Military chiffon blouse // Kaii, (4.) Military vest in Olive // Kaii, also available in black here (5.) Dina plaid point-toe pump in red multi // Alice + Olivia, (6.) Lipstick in Afghan Red - satin garnet // NARS, (7.) Shifters nail polish in iconic // Formula X for Sephora, (8.) Side leather quilted leggings // Kaii, (9.) Cream canvas Tromp-L'œil Beach Tote // Gucci
If you have been a loyal follower on our blog here, you might recognize this ensemble from our previous post here under the "You Need Clothes to Layer With!" slideshow. In this outfit, we pay homage to the new military chic minus the camo (which was sooo last year). We layered Kaii's Military Style Vest on top of our Military Chiffon Blouse with our Side Leather Quilted Leggings, styling it with a multistrand necklace from Vince Camuto that's evocative of bullet casings. Since the leggings have that leather texture, we thought that a wide brimmed leather hat would be a great complement. For an added pop of color, we added some red plaid pumps that adds a certain je ne sais quoi that uplifts the rather darkly-colored outfit. The trademark green and red Gucci emblem was too perfect for this outfit, especially with the gold charm trompe-l'œil print that matches well with the necklace and the overall outfit color scheme. Top it off with red satiny lipstick and gold/green shift nail polish, this outfit is polished, edgy, and perfect for both day and night.
